Not as prickly as some Aligoté with a lovely nose of baby apricots and lemons. Touches of sandalwood and meringue, almost Pavlovatones. The palate, like all of Domaine Cornu’s wines has lovely texture, with calm & relaxed fruit. As you expect from this grape, there’s a real build of tangy lemons, and no aggressive acidity to be seen. Fantastic shape and weight are the hallmarks here.
Our red wine from this regional appellation is 100% pinot noir. Aged in oak barrels, this wine stands out with a flavour profile often featuring raspberries, cherries and sometimes violets. A well-behaved wine that’s neither too tannic or too heavy, it accompanies white meats and will stand up to a slightly spicy cuisine. Multiple dishes pair well with this wine because of its very pleasant balance.
The Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Beaune appellation was accredited in 1961.
Our white wine from here is made from 100% chardonnay grapes.Aromas of white flowers combine with honey. Elegant and pleasant, it typically maintains a certain freshness. Lively during its youth, it should pair very well with snails. It can embellish simple dishes like fish or vegetable woks. Slightly older, its roundness and increasing density will highlight richer dishes such as fish in sauce or crustaceans.
The Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits appellation was accredited in 1961. Our white wine from here is made from 100% chardonnay grapes.
Hawthorn and honeysuckle aromas blend with white nettle, lemon and apple. Typically showing off a round mouthfeel, an underlying freshness allows it to age well according to the vintages. Enhanced by a touch of liveliness, it will accompany parslied ham and snails. When aged, it will go very well with foie gras and with cheeses such as Chaource, matured Comté or even Roquefort.
Savigny-les-Beaune is a village appellation of the Cote de Beaune.
Our red wine from here is 100% pinot noir. A bouquet apt to feature small black and red fruits, the body is full, slightly tannic, and over time some roundness and volume balances the power in even proportions. It will accompany tasty and juicy cuts of beef, but should also be delectable with lacquered or caramelised poultry – like Peking duck.
In a reference written in 1253 from Notre Dame de Beaune is mentioned a vineyard “in Mareschaut”. It is a derivative of the old French noun Maresche “marsh”. The lower parts of Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny were marshy because of their proximity to the local spring known as the Lauve.
This 100% pinot noir grand cru is matured in new barrels. With a purple robe, it is powerful and velvety and elegant by birthright. A wine that will tend towards great complexity, it needs time to flourish.
It is said that this named vineyard “Roussot” (from French roussir – to redden) owes its name to the fact that the wood remaining on this plot starts to take on autumnal hues and turns red from about August 15th.
100% pinot noir, this wine displays a supple and integrated tannic structure while its aromatic strength remains silky smooth. It will go perfectly with spicy dishes. A wine with finesse and elegance.
From vine to wine, we ensure the best cultivation and winemaking methods at every step of the process.
We produce 15 appellations (6 whites and 9 reds) as well as 2 sparkling wines (one white and one rosé) on 20 hectares, with respect for the environment. We guarantee a savoir- faire that combines tradition and progress based on the terroir.
We mainly cultivate 2 grape varieties, chardonnay for white wines, pinot noir for red wines.
The wines are traditionally vinified and partly aged in French oak barrels.
We produce different types of wines:
– Fruity, supple wines, to be drunk young for your immediate pleasure.
– Wines for aging, in order to achieve the quintessential aspects of pinot noir from our Burgundy terroirs.
All our wines are bottled at the estate with the utmost care.
